Mr. Neeraj Kant is an accomplished leader with 37 years of experience across different domains of the Steel Industry. Prior to joining Mukand Limited, he was the “Chief Executive Officer – Steel” with the Welspun Corp Ltd. In his earlier role, he was the Managing Director of “The Indian Steel and Wire Products Ltd.” – A Subsidiary of Tata Steel for around 10 years. He has also worked in the Central Marketing Organization of Steel Authority of India Limited at various locations within India. Before his leadership assignments, he was a Marketing and Sales professional and has majorly contributed in the globally renowned steel retailing initiatives of Tata Steel. He headed the cross-functional team which embarked on the “Retail Value Management” program at Tata Steel. He has mentored 4 Tata Group companies in the Tata Business Excellence Assessments. He is known for his leadership skills, knowledge of steel markets, strategic thinking, and customer orientation.
A graduate from IIT Kanpur and MBA from The University of Edinburgh (Scotland), Mr Kant also attended the General Management Program at CEDEP, INSEAD, France during 2016. He was the Chairman of CII Jharkhand during 2019-20 and a Member of the CII Eastern Regional Council from 2019 to 2022. He was also an Executive Member of the National Committee of CII on “Ease of Doing Business”. He is the recipient of the “Distinguished Engineers Award” and “Scroll of Honor” from the Institution of Engineers (India).
